Ten days after the devastating earthquake in central Turkey, search and rescue operations have concluded and the focus has shifted to providing sustained humanitarian assistance to affected populations.

Current Situation

  • Approximately 180,000 people displaced from their homes
  • Over 4,000 buildings severely damaged or destroyed
  • Temperatures dropping below freezing, increasing urgency for winter shelter

Our Response

  • 10,000 winterized shelter kits distributed to families
  • Field hospitals treating an average of 200 patients per day
  • 25 water purification systems operational, producing 500,000 liters daily
  • Psychosocial support teams providing counseling in 12 locations

Next Steps

We are scaling up transitional shelter construction and planning for medium-term recovery programming, including livelihood support and school rehabilitation.
